ABC FC lifted the ABC Foundation Soccer Tournament trophy after edging Matangari Rising Stars 1-0 in the final at Makonde Stadium on Saturday.
Their path to the title included a 3-1 victory over Malavuwe Great Movers in the semi-final earlier the same day.
The champions received R50,000 in prize money, a floating trophy, gold medals, two sets of soccer kit and a soccer ball. Runners-up Matangari Rising Stars took home R15,000, silver medals, two sets of kit and a soccer ball.
Malavuwe Great Movers and Musasenda Big Five, who exited in the semi-finals, each collected R5,000, kit and a soccer ball. Quarter-finalists Gondeni Big Cat, Maelula United Brothers, Vhembe Tron and FC Basel received R2,000 apiece, while teams knocked out in the last 16 were each given a soccer ball as a consolation prize.
ABC's captain, Tshimangadzo Nemalale, was the standout performer, claiming both the Player of the Tournament and Best Defender award. Other honours went to Maanda Munyai of Rising Stars (Best Goalkeeper), Murangi Rabadanyana of Rising Stars (Best Midfielder), Mashudu "Dunga" Nkhumeleni of ABC (Best Coach) and Mpho Sinthumule (Best Referee).
This year's edition of the tournament featured 32 teams from across Vhembe.
