Former Tshakhuma Community Radio Station presenter Abednego Muhali, known by his radio nickname "Mr ooh yeess," joined Nzhelele-based community radio Nzhelele FM last month. He currently hosts the Nzhelele FM afternoon drive show, known as the R523 Afternoon Drive "Buluvhutsi Dzheke," every weekday from 15:00 to 18:00.
The 27-year-old presenter, who hails from Ngwenani ya Themeli near Thohoyandou, is very excited about his new show at Nzhelele FM and eagerly anticipates interacting with his new listeners.
"This is a stepping stone for my career. I believe I am almost where I want to be in the radio industry. I am gaining all the necessary experience and knowledge," he said. Part of his long-term goal is to be on national radio.
"The most important thing is to engage with listeners on issues that affect them daily. As a radio presenter, you have to create something unique that compels your listeners not to change the station. My best recipe for gaining more listeners is good communication with them and providing unique local content they will never find elsewhere," he added.
In addition to being a presenter, Muhali is also an upcoming actor. He stated that his motto is "Don't let your past challenge your future and paralyze your progress".
