Residents of Muungamunwe village will have the privilege to watch high-quality football at their doorstep when the new league programme for the Safa Vhembe clubs resumes at the beginning of next month. This was confirmed by one of the local residents, Mr Selokelo Reginald Matloga. According to Mr Matloga, he had recently concluded a deal to purchase the franchise for the SAB League side Mulima Agri Village FC.

Mr Matloga revealed that the deal will see the club relocate from Mulima village to Muungamunwe village, better known as Khwekhwe, come next season. He said that the club would now be known as Kwena FC after the deal.

Matloga said that their preparations for the new season were at an advanced stage. The team have played a number of friendly games over the past weeks as part of their preparations for the new season. The rehearsal matches they had played include their 1-0 victory over Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers at the Ramukhuba Grounds. They again played to a 1-1 draw with Kalahari FC at the same venue the following day. Their most recent preparatory game was a 2-2 draw with Lwamondo Pull Together at the Lwamondo Grounds last Sunday.

Matloga said that they had signed several experienced players, including Ndivhuwo Mahwasane from Tshakhuma Shooting Stars, Tuwi Ganyane (Flying Eagles), Mashudu Mamone (Lwamondo Pull Together) and Zwanga Nemutudi (Muungamunwe Happy Boy).

Mr Matloga, or "Power" as he was known during his days as a soccer player, said that their aim was to get promoted every season until they reached the DStv Premiership Division. He emphasised that their set target was achievable when taking into account the level of commitment he had seen from the players in their friendly games.

The former chairman for Mulima Agri Village FC, Mr Sedzani Matloga, has confirmed the deal. He refused to expand on the price, saying that the matter was between the buyer and the seller.
