Teams affiliated to the annual Amos Charity Shield Soccer Tournament played their last two group-stage matches over the past weekend.
FC KK collected four points in their two matches. They collected three points by beating Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers 1-0 at the Tshisimani grounds on Saturday morning. On Sunday, they drew 0-0 against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila at the Malaria grounds. The draw was good enough to secure a place for FC KK in the semifinal stage of the tournament.
Tshakhuma Na Ndilani had mixed fortunes. They played to a 2-2 draw with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila on Saturday. Na Ndilani's goals were scored by Hulani Mphephu and Maduvha Matodzi, while Mandzivhandila's goal came via Lucky Ndou and Khathutshelo Mudau.
Tshakhuma Na Ndilani rectified their mistakes and beat Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers 1-0 at the Malaria grounds the following day, thanks to a late goal by Dakalo "Akonkwo".
Joe Maweja collected the maximum points in their two matches. They beat Tshakhuma RO United 2-1 at the Tshisimani grounds on Saturday and wrapped up their group-stage matches by beating Madridtas 1-0 at the Malaria grounds on Sunday to finish on top of their group.
Madridtas FC are out of the tournament. They played to a 1-1 draw with Gwamasenga United Brothers on Saturday, before losing 0-1 to Joe Maweja the following day.
Sunday's game between Gwamasenga United Brothers and Tshakhuma RO United was not played to the finish. It was abandoned late in the second half. This after RO United were awarded a penalty. The players for United Brothers felt that the penalty was illegitimate and confronted the match officials in anger, accusing them of favoritism. The referee stood firm in his decision and the players insisted that the penalty should not be taken. After consulting with the tournament organizers, the referee blew the final whistle
