The current log leaders in the Safa Vhembe Metropolitan Champ of Champs mini league, Alpha & Omega FC, were by far too strong for Musina Family United when they brutally walloped the latter 4-0.
Omega dominated the proceedings from the onset. The team from Mukula took the lead in the 7th minute when Phathusthedzo Takalani tried his luck from the penalty area. The keeper of United, Mpho Makhavhe, watched helplessly as the ball went beyond his reach.
The struggle continued, with Omega enjoying more ball possession. Phathutshedzo Takalani was on target again in the 20th minute after receiving a beautiful pass from Konanani Muhala and sent in a rocket from the edge of the box.
It was sad day for the Musina team as far as bookings were con-cerned. Three players were booked for various infringements. The players who went into the referee's book were Abram Sebola, Samson Makushu and Humbulani Munyai.
Konanani Muhala put his team further ahead when he forced his way through the defence of United and, instead of passing the ball to Avhatakali Tshivhase, decided to do it alone.
When Nndateni Netshitadi was brought down inside the penalty area late in the first half, the referee did not hesitate to point to the white spot. Avhatakali Tshivhase converted the penalty into a goal. The score board was still 4-0 in favour of Omega at the end of the first half.
The Musina boys came back strongly in the second half. They continued to mount pressure on the defence of the Mukula lads, but they failed to break through the solid defence.
