PRETORIA – After donating league points to Ajax Cape Town at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town a fortnight ago, Black Leopards suffered another defeat when they lost 0-2 to Supersport United in their thrilling game that was played at Securicor Loftus in Pretoria on Saturday.

The homeside immediately took command of the game, in search of an early goal. The pressure increased on the Leopards defenders, who continuously made mistakes. The guys who were giving the Leopards defence a terrible headache were Dennis Masina and Cavan Sibeko. Mandla Zwane picked up a long-range pass from Dennis Masina in the middle of the pitch, beat his marker and passed the ball to the unmarked Chris Nwamba, who beat the Leopards' keeper, Walter Khumalo. Khumalo was cautioned with a card for using vulgar words against the referee, Daniel Bennet, in the 24th minute.

The goal prompted more attempts from United, who invaded the visitors' goal area on numerous occasions. Black Leopards came back to the game towards the end of the first half. The Thohoyandou outfit were unfortunate when Fernando Matola's shot hit the post with the United keeper, Calvin Marlin, well beaten.

Both sides frustrated their fans a great deal in the second half, by wasting obvious chances. The second goal was scored by the former Dynamos midfielder, Frank Makua, in the 75th minute. The defeat has pushed Leopards to the 10th spot on the log.
