After losing 1-9 to Maindis Ladies at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane two weeks ago, Chippas United Ladies continued to donate league points to their opponents.

They lost 1-2 to University of Limpopo Ladies in their Sasol Women's League match at the Makhuvha Stadium last Sunday.

Maggie Mukhuwana, the Chippas' midfielder, was out of form. That forced Chippas to play long balls from behind. That worked against the home side as the tall defenders of University of Limpopo easily cleared the balls out of their danger area.

The visitors took the lead in the 26th minute. A corner kick that was taken by Lebohang Maake gave rise to a scramble within the box. Julia Seopela blasted in a rocket from within the box. The goal was a wakeup call to the Chippas' players. They regrouped from behind, forcing the opposition defence to perform overtime. The wheel of fortune turned in their favour nine minutes towards the end of the first half. Gudani Nephalama gave the ball the final touch after a scramble within the box to bring the half-time score to 1-1.

Chippas came to take the lead in the 54th minute. Their overlapping defender, Makwana Mashalane, tried her luck with a long-range half volley. The ball missed the target by inches.

The goal that earned the University of Limpopo three vital points came via Gloria Mapule. She headed home, following a corner kick that was taken by Faith Lekalakala. Chippas took the game to the visitors in the dying minutes of the game, but Lady Luck was not on their side.
