Highlands Park's new head coach, Mr Owen da Gama, steered his team to a 1-0 victory over Ubuntu Cape Town at the Makhulong Stadium in Johannesburg. Peter Shalulile scored the all-important goal three minutes into the last half. It was Da Gama's first game on the team's technical bench, after joining the club last Tuesday.
Royal Eagles registered their first victory last weekend. They collected maximum points when they beat Richards Bay FC 3-2.
Mbombela United were brutally walloped 1-4 by Pretoria University at the Tuks Stadium in Pretoria. Mbombela were the first to score, but Tuks came back strongly later in the game and scored four in quick succession.
Jomo Cosmos drew 1-1 with Uthongathi FC at the Vosloorus Stadium in Johannesburg. Freddy Masondo scored for Cosmos in the 18th minute, while Uthongathi retaliated via David Skhosana later in the game.
Super Eagles beat Real Kings 1-0 at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem.
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) played to a 2-2 draw with Witbank Spurs at the Thohoyandou Stadium. Lifa Hlongwane scored a brace for TTM, while the Spurs' goals came via Moses Raphepele and Slovo Mrawu in the fourth and 12th minute respectively.
