After collecting the maximum points at the expense of Golden Ladies, whom they had brutally walloped 4-1 in their Hollywoodbets Super League match at the Giyani Stadium last Saturday, Maindis Ladies are set to deposit more significant points into their league account this weekend. They will host City Lads at the same venue on Sunday afternoon.
Whether Shamiso Mutasa and Lebohang Chuma will continue from where they had left off in their game against Golden Ladies remains to be seen. Mutasa scored a hat trick, while the fourth one came via Chuma.
Should they manage to beat City Lads on Sunday, Maindis are likely to jump from the eighth to the fourth position on the log standings. The Bungeni side currently have 44 points, which they had accumulated from 26 matches.
Asked about their state of readiness for the game, the team's head coach, Mr Sipho Mabuza, said that they were going to beat City Lads, come rain or sunshine on Sunday. He revealed that his squad has a clean bill of health. City Lads are not on the safe side when it comes to relegation. They are lying in the fourth position from the bottom of the log.
The other Limpopo-based side, First Touch Academy, will visit Bloemfontein Celtic at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein. Golden Ladies will host Durban Ladies at the Mafikeng Stadium in the North West. Richmond United, who lost 1-2 to Durban Ladies at the Galeshewe Stadium in Kimberley last Saturday, will await the University of Western Cape FC at the same venue. The other fixtures are Thunderbirds Ladies vs University of Johannesburg Ladies, Tsunami Queens vs TUT FC and Durban Ladies vs Vasco da Gama.
