Veteran female runner Jane Mudau once again claimed the top spot on the podium, winning the Three-in-One MM Active Road Race half marathon in Thohoyandou on 27 December. The event also featured 10 km and 5 km races.
Mudau completed the women’s 21.1 km race in 1:53:43. The men’s race was won by Rufus Photo from Polokwane in 1:25:03, with the competition providing plenty of excitement in a tight battle among the runners.
“I’m happy to win the Three-in-One Race,” Mudau said. “It was a tough race for me, but everything went as planned.” She encouraged other athletes to put their goals in God’s hands and thanked her supporters for their encouragement.
“I think success comes from knowing what you want in life. The most important thing is to be disciplined, be humble, and listen to your parents and coach. The competition was tough, but I was well prepared. What I like about this race is that, once you finish, you feel like you are on top of the world,” she said.
During the prize-giving ceremony, organiser Mpho Magoro congratulated all participants and said efforts were already underway to make next year’s race even bigger. He described the event as a success and thanked the sponsors for their support. The race was held under the theme “Running for Togetherness.”
