Arrests follows after R1.4 million of illegal cigarettes is found in warehouse

Musina police have arrested two suspected cigarette smugglers after about R1,4 million worth of illegal cigarettes was discovered in a warehouse on a farm just outside this border town.

Musina police have arrested two suspected cigarette smugglers after about R1,4 million worth of illegal cigarettes was discovered in a warehouse on a farm just outside this border town.

The suspects, aged 35 and 36, were arrested after the cigarettes were found on the farm Bokveld Farm.

According to Supt Mohale Ramatsebe, provincial police spokesperson, the cigarettes were inside 338 boxes. He said the two suspects were arrested and taken to the Musina police station. They were to appear before the Musina magistrate's court at time of going to press.

It is believed that the case will be postponed for further police investigation.
