The semi-final and final matches of the Lumveleni Soccer Tournament will take place at the Ngudza Grounds on Sunday. The first semi-final between Tshikovha Arsenal and Matangari Settlers is scheduled to start at 09:30.
Winning the match will not be easy for Settlers, judging by Arsenal's performance against Manamani City in their quarter-final game, where Arsenal emerged victorious with a 3-2 win. Arsenal will rely on Avhashoni Matshavha and Lufuno Mudau for goals.
Matshavha was outstanding in Arsenal's quarter-final game against Manamani City, scoring a brace, while the third goal came from Lufuno Mudau.
Settlers secured their place in the semi-final round by defeating Ngudza Young Vultures 2-0 in their quarter-final match at the same venue last Saturday.
In the second semi-final match, expected to start at 11:30, Vondwe United Brothers will face Tshikambe FC. Vondwe United Brothers advanced to the semi-finals by beating Manamani Blue Birds 11-10 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time.
Tshikambe's journey to the semi-final was challenging. They surprised everyone by defeating Ngwenani Young Chiefs 9-8 in their round-of-16 match at the same venue three weeks ago. In the quarter-finals, Tshikambe had to overcome a 0-1 deficit and beat Mighty Super Power 3-1 to secure their spot in the semi-final stage.
The winners of the semi-final matches will face off in the final at the same venue later in the afternoon. The champions will receive a prize of R14,000, while the runners-up will take home R6,000. The team finishing in third place will receive R3,000, and the fourth-placed side will be awarded R2,000.
