Madombidzha Arsenal were crowned the champions of the Tshimado tournament, when they beat Madombizha Celtic 2-0 at the Madombidzha grounds on Sunday.
Celtic should have opened their account in the 10th minute. Their tall striker, Mpho Ndou, dribbled past two Arsenal defenders in a row, but the opponent's keeper, Rendani Maduwa saved the ball. Both teams attacked the goalposts several times, but no goal was scored in the first half.
In the second half, Arsenal introduced Maanda Nengovhela for Mushoni Leaka. That proved to be a clever move. Arsenal opened the score line when Nengovhela received a pass from Ronewa Nwanamidwa, allowing him to score. Celtic continued to fight as an organised team, but failed to break the Arsenal wall.
Two players who were cautioned with cards for rough tackling were Mulalo Tambani and Mangi Tambani. Celtic replaced Hulisani Tshivhidzo and Doctor Ratshibaya with Oscar Mafunisa and Stanley Mukhuba respectively later in the game. Rithsidze Matodzi dribbled past two defenders in a row and passed the ball to the unmarked Mbengeni Rambuwani, who scored easily to make the score 2-0.
