Venda recording artist Asa Tee is preparing to release a new single titled A Ni Nga Tuwi, a heartfelt, emotionally driven track that examines loyalty in relationships during difficult times.
Known for his expressive storytelling, Asa Tee continues to ground his music in real-life experiences and relatable themes.
The single poses a direct and vulnerable question to a romantic partner: whether they will remain when circumstances become challenging. The Tshivenda title reflects the song’s central message of commitment beyond comfort.
“A ni nga tuwi is a question to a partner, asking whether she or he will stay when things become difficult,” Asa Tee said, adding that his inspiration came from everyday situations where couples tend to stay together when things are going well but separate when problems arise.
Production on the track began in September and took three months to complete. Asa Tee describes the sound as calm and emotional, anchored by a deeply felt vocal performance.
“It’s calm and emotional — the person was crying,” he said.
While the single is aimed at young couples and married partners, its message is expected to resonate more widely. A music video is scheduled for release in mid-February.
