Afro-pop artist Asakundwi Mulaudzi, better known by his stage name of Asa Tee, from Hamadala, is taking the music scene to new heights with the release of his highly anticipated album, Mukundi. The album, which means "the victor" in Tshivenda, has been trending on music platforms since its release on 15 November.
Featuring an impressive lineup of artists, including Mizo Phyll, JR Player, and Racha Kill, Mukundi highlights Asa Tee's steady rise in the music industry. The album's lyrics, deeply rooted in his personal experiences and cultural heritage, explore powerful themes of love and self-discovery.
"My album has resonated deeply with fans, garnering positive feedback and charting impressively on platforms like Apple Music, where it ranked among the top 49 best albums across all genres, peaking at number seven in the African category," he said.
In late August, he released the first single from the album, O Noula. The track has received an overwhelmingly positive response, rapidly gaining popularity on various music platforms and sparking discussions among music lovers.
"Track number 11, Ndo Nanga (meaning 'I chose'), is a standout from the album. The love song carries a heartfelt message about choosing a soulmate and dedicating oneself to lasting love. I wanted to create an album that would inspire people to focus on the positive aspects of love," he said.
"For too long, I have written about the hurt and pain of love. With Mukundi, I wanted to shift the narrative and highlight the victories and triumphs that come with it. I promise my fans more music that showcases my growth as an artist, and they can look forward to the album deluxe," he said.
