Azwindini Lutendo Masuwa, a published author, released his third book titled Ghost of Vengeance: The Angel of Silence, in March of this year. The book delves into the daily challenges faced by individuals, particularly the pressures experienced by men in their family and community lives, which often lead to violence.
Through his book, Masuwa aims to encourage men to discuss their problems openly rather than internalise their resentments and issues. He hopes that by speaking out, men can prevent themselves from becoming so frustrated that thoughts of revenge or suicide start to emerge.
Masuwa was born in Musholombi village in the Nzhelele area and completed his secondary education at Tshianane Secondary School. He began his higher-education journey at the University of Venda in 2011, where he obtained a junior BA degree in criminal justice. In 2014, he earned his honours degree in criminology and criminal justice from the University of Limpopo (formerly known as the University of the North). Currently, he is pursuing an LLB degree at the University of South Africa.
In 2019, Masuwa's passion for creative writing led him to establish the African Institute for Training and Consultation. The institute's primary objective is to provide financial literacy training to African individuals, assist aspiring authors in getting their work published, offer referrals, and provide paralegal advice.
Masuwa received the Media, Information, and Advertising (MIA) award for creative writing in 2022 for his first book, Unshakable, which was released in 2019. The book also won him the African Authors Award in 2021. His second book, Unshakable Riches, was published in 2020.
As part of his commitment to giving back, Masuwa has pledged to allocate 10% of his book sales to purchasing school-related essentials for young boys. This initiative aims to motivate and encourage them to grow up to become responsible men.
