THOHOYANDOU – A resident of Magidi Village, Tiny Ntsieni (23) appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on a charge of concealment of birth.

The case arose from an incident on Tuesday (July 19) when the head and feet of a baby boy were found in a mealie field at Magidi. It is suspected that the baby was eaten by stray dogs.

It is alleged that Ntsieni might have given birth on Monday night and that she had abandoned the baby in the mealie field.

The motive for the concealment of the baby’s birth is still unknown to the police, and they are investigating.

Ntsieni was not asked to plead and released on warning. The case was postponed to a later date.
