Last weekend was an ugly one for the MMK Administrators Soccer League Stream H champions, Berea FC, as they dropped four points in the two matches they played.
Berea shared the spoils with their neighbors, Anel Real Vikings, when they played to a goalless draw at the Zwigodini grounds on Saturday.
Their match on Sunday was against Tshilamusi Super Eagles, and they lost 1-3 at the Tshilamusi grounds. Elias Ranyaoa scored their solitary goal against Super Eagles.
Their game on Saturday against Real Vikings kept the fans at the edge of their seats to the bitter end. The first 15 minutes were characterized by dangerous tackles as the players tried to frustrate one another.
The referee, Mr Eric "Khathikhathi" Munyai, calmed the situation by flashing three yellow cards in quick succession. Ndaedzo Netshivhongweni of Real Vikings was the first player to go into the referee's book. He tackled Madzanga Tshiruma illegally in the 12th minute. His team mate, Thabelo Rabambukwa, saw himself on the wrong side of the football laws by handling the ball intentionally five minutes later.
Rophuluswa Mavhungu and Aubrey Ndou both of Berea were also booked towards the end of the first half. Mavhungu was warned for dangerous play, while Ndou was obstructing Lindelani Mudau. Vhonani Singo of Real Vikings was given his marching orders in the 59th minute. He used abusive language towards the referee and the whistle man took no time to flash red.
The game came to a halt for about 11 minutes. This after the players and officials of Real Vikings invaded the pitch and confronted the referee, accusing him of favouritism.
Berea introduced Edwin Ramphabana, who replaced Rophuluswa Mavhungu. Berea were also reduced to 10 men later in the game. Dakalo Ratshitanga was given his marching orders for dangerous play. The draw was good enough for Berea to be crowned the Stream H champions.
