All the accused arrested for public violence at Vuwani will hopefully know today (Friday) if they will be released on bail.

All the accused arrested for public violence at Vuwani will hopefully know today (Friday) if they will be released on bail.

Since the arrests and subsequent appearance at Malamulele and Thohoyandou of those suspected of being behind the violence in Vuwani and parts of Thulamela, which has put life in the areas on hold, only the names of councillor Gideon Tshavhuyo and educator Mr Edzisani Muthathe have been mentioned.

Those appearing at Malamulele are: Rothe Ratshifheti (21), Frank Muthathe (50), Simon Ravele (28), Lyborn Malaudzi (38), Itani Mahosi (26), Bushy Fhedzisani (35), Dakalo Mahosi (19), Gideon Tshavhuyo (38), Prince Mashamba (29), Nicholas Hlungwani (27), Ndwamato Mugwena (26), Rodney Davhana (21), Hulisani Mushavhela (19), Remember Mavhandu (23), Tiyiselani Hlungwani (19), Kenneth Radzilani (20), Takalani Munyai (19) and Owen Ndou (52).

Those appearing in Thohoyandou are: Tshiredo Mmboniseni (27), Mphatheleni Mabannda (26), Tendani Rambuda (32), Maluta Innocent Mabannda (42).

Appearing again in Thohoyandou in a seperate case are Takalani Desmond Mamugudubi (51), Tshiredo Mmboniseni (27), Frank Chauke (33), Tendani Rambuda (32), Mphatheleni Mabannda (26), Ephraim Baloyi (29) and Maluta Innocent Mabannda 42.

Meanwhile, community structures pointed out during a meeting on Tuesday with ministers at King Toni Mphephu's guest house that the release of residents would fconstitute good grounds for further consultations in an effort to normalize the situation in the area. There is still no life in Vuwani, with businesses still closed and only a few pupils reporting at their respective schools.
