Baroka FC came back from their two previous defeats to beat the much-feared Supersport United 3-1 in their Absa Premier league match played at the Peter Mokaba sport complex on Sunday.

Although United lost cohesion in the middle of the park at some point, their dribbling wizard, Dean Furman, remained a thorn in the flesh of the defenders of Baroka. Thuso Phala of United came close to scoring in the 14th minute when he tried his luck from the edge of the box. The ball missed the goal mouth by inches.

Baroka took the lead in the 24th minute. Lucky Nguzana beat the offside trap and showed the keeper the wrong way. The visiting side (United) did not give in without a fight. They continued to fight collectively, with their midfielders dishing out some telling passes to the goal poachers time after time.

United player Grant Kekana was a marvel to watch as he continued to test Baroka's strikers. Bradley Grobler of United should have scored the equalizer, but his shot hit the crossbar and bounced outside the pitch. Baroka enjoyed their 1-0 lead until the referee blew the half-time whistle.

United equalized through the tall man, Azubuike Egwuekwe, with a brilliant goal. Their celebration was cut short when Letladi Mabubanya headed home after he finished off a good pass from Richardt Matloga.

Mduduzi Mdantsane was on target to put his side into the lead. He beat the keeper with a volley and scored his team's third goal late in the match.
