The Limpopo PSL team, Baroka FC, released 13 of its players this week. Most of the players featured primarily in the first team last season.

This was confirmed by the team's Public Relations Officer, Mr Jimmy Ngobeni, who said Baroka want to build a formidable team for the coming season. He said it was the wish of the team to release all 13 players as they want to rebuild the team.

Among the players who were released were Khunadi Nkoana, Caswell Chauke, Jacky Mothsega, Ndivhuwo Ravhuhali, Tshepiso Letsise, Jose Achcia, Ntlosi Kunene, Mdeni Zikalala, Nkosinathi Odel, Mahoro Letsaolo, Thapelo Maleka, Siphamandla Sangweni and Helder Phelembe.

Speaking about the team's plans for the new season, Ngobeni said that the team will have a complete new look in terms of players. He said that it was not easy for them to let the highly experienced players go, but rules were rules and they must be complied with. "We could not keep players that we knew we were not going to utilize, hence the radical decision to let them go," he said.

When asked as to how they were planning to replace the released players, Ngobeni said that they are busy assessing several players from Premier Soccer League teams and abroad. According to him, the team is now doing what he described as the "final touches" before the activities for the new season start.
