A 25-year-old woman allegedly fled from a house bleeding and shouting for help after being stabbed by her boyfriend. She collapsed in the yard outside the house and died shortly afterwards.
The incident occurred on Friday, 29 May, at Basani Mphakati village near Malamulele.
According to Limpopo police, officers responded to a murder complaint and found the woman lying a few metres from the suspect’s home with multiple stab wounds. Emergency Medical Services personnel declared her dead at the scene.
The 32-year-old suspect allegedly fled following the stabbing but was later handed over to police by a family member. He was arrested and charged with murder.
Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the killing and urged communities to report domestic and gender-based violence before incidents escalate into tragedy.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 1 June. Police investigations are continuing.
