The second batch of the round-of-32 matches for the Lumveleni Spring Soccer Tournament will be played at the Ngudza Grounds this weekend. The opening matches were played at the same venue over the past weekend. Four matches will be played on Saturday, with the same number of matches scheduled for Sunday.
Saturday's programme will kick off with a match between T-Waterfall and Madandila Happy Boys at 09:00. Ngudza United Brothers and Mbilwi United Stars will follow starting at 11:00. Lwamondo Mighty Brothers are gearing up for a tough match against FC Basel. Mighty Brothers will have to double their effort if they are serious about winning the match, as Basel recently represented the Vhembe Regional League at the provincial promotional playoffs. Benny's Care Academy will play against Madridtas FC in the last fixture of the day. Benny's are one of the teams poised to lift the trophy.
Mapate FC and Duthuni Try Again will be the first to enter the field of play on Sunday morning. They will be followed by Mukumbani Shooting Stars and Thohoyandou Manchester Flying Stars at 11:00. Manchester Flying Stars are still recovering from the 4-5 defeat at the hands of Makonde FC in their quarter-final match of the Funanani Ndou Soccer Tournament at the Khubvi Benjie's Grounds last Saturday. The other Sunday fixtures are Ngudza Young Vultures vs Marula XI FC and Berea FC vs Rockers FC.
The champions will receive R15,000, a floating trophy, and gold medals. The runners-up will take home R8,000 and silver medals. Teams booted out in the semi-final round will each receive R4,000, while teams eliminated in the quarter-final round will each become R2,000 richer. The semi-final and final will be played on Sunday, 25 August.
