Bashean Mudau, better known as Bashy Jahbless, is a reggae star whose music can be compared to a good wine that matures with time. With the release of his fourth album, titled "Welcome to Venrock," earlier this month, he has solidified his presence in the entertainment industry.
Born and raised in Vuwani 34 years ago, Bashy rose to stardom with the release of his highly successful debut album, "World without peace," in 2008. His second and third albums, "Tshanduko yo swika" (2011) and "Poor people's cry" (2015), were also well received by reggae lovers.
As a talented singer, songwriter, and stage performer, Bashy stands out from his music peers with his unique voice and entertaining songs that encourage love, unity, hard work, and self-reliance. Inspired by Jamaican superstars like such as Fyah and Anthony B, he considers himself fortunate to have realised his musical dreams at a young age. "I believe that there are many gifted artists out there, but I'm very lucky to have grabbed this opportunity to realise my potential. Things are now going according to my plans. I also believe that hard work, dedication, and my willingness to experience new things and expand my knowledge have contributed towards my success," he said.
"Welcome to Venrock" consists of 11 upbeat tracks that will instantly get reggae lovers swaying along to the music. The album includes songs such as "Welcome to Venrock" (title track), "Ndi a mu funa" (featuring Ras Pjumudzo), "Happy anniversary," "A thi dzi bonyi," "Pretty girl" (featuring Eddie Luvhengo), "Hold on" (featuring Fyah Prince), and "A thi dzi bonyi" (extended version). The album is already receiving fair airplay on both regional and national radio stations.
