After years of steady growth in the music industry, Batondy is preparing to release a new EP that reflects both his evolving sound and personal journey. While still untitled, the theme is clear: celebration and appreciation.

"The EP is not titled yet because I name my projects according to what I have been talking about on the whole project," Batondy says. "On this one, it is more of a celebration and appreciation of what I have achieved over the years in the industry and in life generally."

Blending Afro and Venda hip hop with dance elements, the project leans into joyful, nostalgic sounds. "My recent sound is a happy sound, but with the feel and nostalgia," he says.

Batondy's lyrics remain grounded in real-life experience. "Every time I make music, I say things that I have experienced or something I have seen from the next person," he says. "My daily life triggers my lyrics, and it touches people's lives because it is a real experience."

Collaborations with trending artists—such as LK Galinkuta, Stoner, Mizo Phyll, and Mutendas—add to the EP's energy. "All this happened so easily because I have good relationships with all these artists," he says.

One standout track, I've Been Tryin featuring Golden Voice, holds special meaning. "The song is an appreciation to God for what I have achieved so far musically."

The creative process wasn't without challenges. "There were issues like other artists bringing their verses late … or producers bringing in the wrong beats," he says.

Batondy's Venda roots shape both language and identity in the project. "My cultural and local background plays a big role because of my language usage. I speak deep Venda. In a creative world, we seek to stand out in our art."

He hopes listeners take away a message of hope and gratitude. "They will know that whatever they are going through in their lives, they are not the only ones."

A strong visual rollout will accompany the release. "I am planning to release this EP with 80% music videos and visualisers. We have already shot a few videos."

Looking ahead, Batondy is focused on new collaborations, bigger stages and mentoring emerging talent. "It is no surprise that we are still going to bring more hits … and also to push young and upcoming artists."

With authenticity and resilience at its core, the EP is poised to be a defining moment in Batondy's musical journey.
