Benny's Care Academy played to a 1-all draw with Gogobole Bucs in their Heritage tournament match held in Gogobole on Sunday. Benny's overpowered Bucs in the penalty shoot-out and won the match 6-5.
Benny's was the superior side from the onset as far as possession of the ball was concerned. This resulted in their putting more pressure on the defence of Bucs for the better part of the match.
Khutso Mafichi of Benny's scored after he received a beautiful pass from Karabo Malebana. Realising that their midfield was weary, the technical department of Benny's introduced Mutshidzi Nemaxwi for Brian Mashego.
The second half was characterised by dangerous play from the Bucs team's players. In an attempt to calm the situation, the referee flashed some yellow cards in quick succession. Tsie Nndwambi and Victor Mulaudzi of the home team were booked for the application of dirty tricks and dangerous play. The keeper of the Bucs team, Khongelani Baloyi, was yellow carded for rough play.
Bucs' strikers wasted many opportunities, but eventually equalised through Lutendo Mabasa late in the match.
