The final of the Nwali Soccer Challenge Tournament will be staged at the Khubvi Benjie's Grounds on Saturday. Berea FC and Matangari High Aims will meet in the final.
Berea's way to the final went via Khubvi Dangerous Darkies, whom they beat 4-3 in their quarterfinal match at the same venue last Saturday. The winner was determined through a penalty shootout as the score was 1-1 at the end of regulation time. Berea went on to crush Mulodi Freedom Birds 1-0 in their semi-final match at the same venue the following day.
Matangari High Aims beat Anel Real Vikings 4-2 in their quarter-final match last Saturday. They then rose to the occasion and beat Madridtas FC 1-0 in their semi-final match to secure a place in the final.
The teams that were booted out in the semi-final stage, Madridtas FC and Mulodi Freedom Birds, will fight for the third and fourth position in their losers' final match, which is scheduled to start at 13:00.
Stopping the goal poachers of Berea, Edwin Ramphabana and Dakalo Ratshitanga, will not be an easy task for High Aims' defenders.
On the other hand, Berea must keep an eagle eye on the playmakers of High Aims, Israel Netshiendeulu and Rendani Ntsieni, or else they will concede an avalanche of goals. High Aims have one of the best goalkeepers in the tournament, Fhatuwani Mudimeli. Mudimeli pulled off some brilliant saves in their game against Anel Real Vikings last Saturday.
The champions will take home R10 000. The team that will finish in second position will be presented with cash amounting to R7 000. The third-and fourth-placed teams will receive R3 900 and R3 000 respectively.
