Teams that have entered the Mafhungwana Soccer Tournament will play their last-16-round matches this weekend. Four matches will be played at the Mukula Tshidzani Tsha Maria Grounds on Saturday, while the remaining four are scheduled for Sunday at the same venue.
Saturday's programme will be opened by the match between Tshimuthe FC and Makonde FC at 09:00. Makonde FC surprised many when they rose to the occasion to beat Lambani Bayern 4-0 in their opening match last Saturday.
Matangari Settlers will battle for league points against Vondwe United Brothers in the next fixture, which is scheduled to start at 11:00. The much-awaited match between Berea FC and Mukula Young Santos will follow shortly after midday. The game is expected to be the final before the actual final. Berea and Young Santos are the hot favourites to lift the trophy.
The day's programme will be wrapped up by the match between Matangari High Aims and Mukula Jamaican Stars. Khubvi Dangerous Darkies and Tshivhilwi Young Bombers will rub shoulders in the opening match on Sunday morning. Young Bombers will be in for a big surprise if they underestimate Dangerous Darkies, who have beaten Tshivhungululu Hungry Vultures 2-0 on their way to the last-16 round.
Musasenda Big Five will have a date with Univen FC soon afterwards. Univen's way to the last-16 round was not an easy one. They had beaten Mukula Silver Stars 4-3 via penalty shootout in their opening match. Napoli FC are gearing up for a tough game against Buluni Happy Boys. Saudi FC and Nweli Stone Breakers will lock horns later in the afternoon.
