This Sunday marks the final round of the Zwonaka zwa Hamakhale Soccer Tournament. All matches will be played at the Tshivhilwi Tshiberetheni Grounds. The quarter-final matches are scheduled for Saturday, while the semi-final and final matches will take place on Sunday.
The first quarter-final match, starting at 09:00, will be between Buluni Happy Boys and Vondwe XI Bullets. Nweli Stone Breakers will then take on Tshituni FC shortly thereafter. Musasenda Big Five and Mulindathavha Ocean Swallows will compete for a place in the semi-final shortly after midday. The day's programme will conclude with the match between Berea FC and Madridtas FC.
Berea FC are the defending champions, having defeated Ngwenani Young Chiefs 8-7 at the same venue last year to lift the trophy. The draw for the semi-final matches will be conducted after the last quarter-final game on Saturday.
This year's champions will be awarded R15,000, a soccer kit, gold medals, and a floating trophy. The runners-up will receive R7,000, a soccer kit, and silver medals. The third- and fourth-placed teams will be given R4,000 and R3,000 respectively, in addition to soccer balls. Teams that are eliminated in the quarterfinal round will each receive a consolation prize of R1,000.
