Nzhelele FM's prominent radio anchor Patrick Livhalani Netshifhatani made a triumphant return to the station after a short stint at Radio Thohoyandou. Known affectionately as "Big Tree" in radio circles, he says nothing fulfils him more than sharing information and discussing topical issues with his listeners.

The radio personality from Lwamondo returned to Nzhelele FM with a bang and now hosts the popular programme My Journey, My Future, which airs on Saturdays from 9:00 to 12:00.

Describing his return as a fresh start, Big Tree said the show had helped him build a strong bond with his audience. "This is a phone-in programme where I interact with young listeners. We mostly engage on topics like drugs and alcohol abuse, and discuss ways to overcome these challenges. We also explore ways for young people to improve their lives through education and entrepreneurship.

"We focus on issues such as gender-based violence, which has become a plague in our communities. Through the programme, we are making a small contribution to fighting this scourge. We sometimes invite experts who provide guidance, and listeners have the opportunity to ask questions and share their views. The programme has become like a home to me, and I am enjoying every minute of it," he said.

Big Tree is no ordinary DJ. He is also a popular gospel musician and a sought-after master of ceremonies at events. He cites inspiration from radio veterans such as Bravo 1020, Rofhiwa Nethengwe, Razzmatazz Mashige, and Mpho Nefale.

He began his radio journey at Nzhelele FM in 2020, hosting various programmes. In 2024, he left the station briefly to work at Radio Thohoyandou but returned to Nzhelele FM earlier this year.
