Internationally renowned gospel artist Bishop Fhatuwani Roxley Masevhe has released a new gospel album, Yesaya 7.

Born and raised in the Thengwe area many years ago, the always-smiling Bishop Masevhe has been in the music industry for the past 47 years and has released blockbuster gospel songs, such as Munwe na Munwe u do fhira and Goya, over the years.

Masevhe began his gospel music career in 1977 and recorded his first album in 1978, titled Vhudzisani Makhulu vha do ni vhudza.

In an interview with Limpopo Mirror on Sunday, Masevhe said his latest offering was making waves in the music industry. "Since its release, I have already been interviewed by Phalaphala FM (three times), Energy FM, KUMKANI FM from the Eastern Cape, and K FM from Mpumalanga," he said.

He added that because of the popularity of the album, he was scheduled to be interviewed by Lesedi FM later this week.

Masevhe made international headlines in the music industry with his hit songs such as Li ada duvha (Judgment Day is Coming) and Goya in the 1980s. Li ada duvha became like a national anthem in the former Venda Bantustan Government and was used by almost all local churches to remind congregants to keep praying as no one knows when Judgment Day will come.

He is also a talented dancer on stage and always draws huge crowds wherever he performs.

The album will officially be launched at Lathavha Garden and Picnic Site on Saturday, 3 May.
