After failing to collect the maximum points at home last weekend, Black Leopards must beat Uthongathi FC if they are serious about gaining promotion to the DStv Premiership Division at the end of the season. Leopards and Uthongathi will meet in their Motsepe Foundation Championship League match at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban on Sunday afternoon.
Black Leopards are still to win a league match under the guidance of the new head coach of the team, Mr Rodwell Dhlakama. The Zimbabwean mentor was seated on the team's technical bench for the first time in their game against University of Pretoria FC, with whom they had played to a 3-3 draw at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria two weeks ago.
He was shouting instructions to the players from the same bench in their game against JDR Stars at the Malamulele Stadium last Sunday. The game ended in a goalless draw.
Dhlakama has promised the team's supporters that nothing would stop them from collecting the full points at stake on Sunday. He said that they were working on target shooting during their training sessions throughout the week to avoid a recurrence of their game against JDR Stars.
The defenders of Uthongathi must keep an eye on Leopards' strikers, Matimu Tshabalala and Bethuel Muzeu, or else they will not know what had eaten them at the end of the game.
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) will undertake a journey to Pretoria on Friday. Their match against JDR Stars will be played at the Soshanguve Giant Stadium outside Pretoria. The Polokwane derby between Baroka FC and Magesi FC will be staged at the Global Stadium in Lebowakgomo on Sunday afternoon.
