After securing the Motsepe Foundation Championship franchise from Cape Town All Stars and appointing their technical team last month, Black Leopards have been relatively quiet about the club's developments. However, in a recent interview with club chairman Mr Tshifhiwa Thidiela, he revealed that significant progress was happening behind closed doors.
Thidiela stated that the entire club, including the technical staff, was hard at work in preparation for the new season. The technical staff have been busy assembling a formidable squad, but he was hesitant to disclose the names of the players who will be joining the team.
Regarding the players who were still under contract with Cape Town All Stars at the time of the franchise purchase, Thidiela clarified that almost all their employment contracts had expired by the end of last month.
He assured the team's passionate supporters that they would witness a brand-new team when the new season's activities commenced towards the end of next month. He mentioned that most of the players from the previous year's squad had been released, and the team had been engaged in rehearsal games over the past few weeks.
Thidiela expressed satisfaction with the work done by the technical staff so far. When asked about the future of their ABC Motsepe League status after acquiring the Motsepe Foundation Championship franchise, he stated that the club would hold a press conference to unveil the entire plan soon.
