Last weekend saw the affiliates for the National First Division League play their final matches of the season.

Pretoria University's hopes for participating in the platinum play-off matches turned into a nightmare, when they shared the spoils with Winners Park. The scoreboard was still blank when the referee blew the final whistle.

In their Limpopo derby that was staged at the Nkowankowa Stadium near Tzaneen, Dynamos held Black Leopards to a 1-1 draw. Klaas Galane scored the goal for Dynamos goal, while Leopards retaliated through a substitute, Thabo Mongalo, early in the last half. The result brought some relief to Black Leopards as they have narrowly escaped the relegation axe.

Witbank Spurs have reason to celebrate too. Their 1-0 victory over the league champions, Jomo Cosmos, was good enough to save them from relegation.

Witbank Spurs finished their league programme in the second last position, with 26 points, two above the relegated FCAK. Although they shared the spoils with Witbank Spurs, Jomo Cosmos managed to book a place in the promotional play-offs.

Mpumalanga Black Aces pushed FCAK into the quicksand when they held them to a 1-1 draw at the Eldorado Park Stadium. The draw means that FCAK finished their league programme at the bottom of the log, with 24 points.

In the Coastal Stream of the National First Division, Carara Kicks wrapped up their league activities by donating points to Hanover Park, following their 1-2 defeat. The results of the other Coastal Stream matches are FC Cape Town 2, Durban Stars 0; Nathi Lions 1, Ikapa Sporting FC 3 and African Warriors 0, Vasco da Gama 0.
