Black Leopards are poised to maul Highbury FC when the two sides meet in their Motsepe Foundation Championship fixture at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday.
Highbury could be in for a tough afternoon if Leopards' dominant performance against Kruger United last Sunday is anything to go by. The Nelspruit-based side had no answer as Lidoda Duvha fired in three unanswered goals at the Kanyamazane Stadium.
Leopards head coach Joel Masutha is confident that the best result Highbury can hope for on Wednesday is a draw. He acknowledged, however, that their opponents would arrive buoyed by a recent 1-0 win over the pace-setters, Durban City.
Masutha said everyone in their camp understood that a win over Highbury would significantly boost the team's hopes of securing promotion to the Betway Premiership. While Leopards currently sit fifth on the log, they trail second-placed Casric Stars by just two points, and are eight points adrift of leaders Durban City.
He warned, however, that underestimating Highbury could prove disastrous. Although eighth on the table, Highbury remain in the hunt for a spot in the promotional playoffs.
Leopards' Zimbabwean striker Augusto Farai will be available for selection after missing Sunday's match because of injury. Should he be given a run, Farai is expected to form a potent attacking trio with Mwape Musonda and Bethuel Muzeu, who netted a brace against Kruger United.
