As part of rebuilding for the upcoming Motsepe Foundation Championship League season, Black Leopards have parted ways with several key players.
Goalkeeper Mashudu Makhavhu, the club's number one over the past two seasons, left after his contract expired on 30 June. The 24-year-old did not struggle to find a new club and has joined Betway Premiership side Polokwane City. He was on the bench for their MTN 8 game against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium last Saturday.
Right back Tshepo Matsimbi will also not return to Black Leopards. He has accepted a contract with Betway Premiership club Sekhukhune United and started their MTN 8 match against TS Galaxy at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Another right back, Tebogo Makobela, has been training with Venda FC for two weeks and is expected to join them for next season.
Nkosephayo Mavundla and Malawian international Rafic Namwera were informed their contracts would not be renewed after they had expired on 30 June.
Black Leopards chairman Tshifhiwa Thidiela urged supporters not to panic, promising that they would be pleased with new signings to be unveiled next week.
