Blaqboy Muziq, born Uhone Mukwevho Junior, is a rising Amapiano producer from Siambe village whose sound is rooted in emotion and authenticity. He describes his music as fluid and mood-driven — sometimes smooth, sometimes deep, and at times raw — reflecting his thoughts and feelings at the moment of creation.
He began pursuing music seriously around 2019, inspired by the impact of Scorpion Kings. Amapiano offered him a way to express emotion without words. Through experimentation and persistence, he developed a sound that feels personal and honest.
Blaqboy Muziq is working on an EP expected around February, while also releasing singles and honing his craft. His focus is on growth, consistency and improvement rather than rushing projects.
Coming from Vhembe presents both pride and challenges. Limited exposure, fewer opportunities and a lack of industry infrastructure remain obstacles, but these have strengthened his work ethic and creativity. He believes the region has abundant talent but needs stronger unity, better platforms, functional studios and more support for local artists.
Collaboration is important to him. He hopes to work with artists such as Gusba Banana, Rude Kid, Mizo Phyll, Ubber Blaq, Fistosvelley, Mick Black, JR Player and Taylor Gal.
Looking ahead, Blaqboy Muziq aims to perform on larger stages, release solid music and help uplift young artists from his community. His advice to aspiring musicians: stay consistent, trust the process and never let your circumstances define your future.
