Nyadzani Precious Ramaboe, better known as "Bomblicious," has already become a favourite among Makhado FM's listeners.
Ramaboe said breaking into the world of broadcasting was not easy. "I saw an advertisement from Makhado FM for a presenter, and I immediately knew this was my opportunity to realise my dream. I wasted no time in applying and was overjoyed when they invited me for interviews. I passed with flying colours," she said.
She currently presents the Morning Connection show from Monday to Friday, from 03:00 to 06:00. On Saturdays, she hosts the Africa Connection show from 18:00 to 21:00, and on Sundays from 06:00 to 09:00, she presents the gospel show. She also hosts the Reggae Vibe show on Saturdays from 12:00 to 15:00.
"When I was still at Tshimonela Primary School, my teachers encouraged me to take part in poetry, drama and debate, and this continued in high school. I would stand in front of the teachers and learners with confidence and receive a standing ovation whenever I performed," she said.
Ramaboe represented her schools in various debate competitions. "At the time, I didn't realise that this was preparing me for my breakthrough in the broadcasting industry, but today, I am proud to reap the rewards of my hard work."
She says that in the short time she has been in broadcasting, she has already learnt valuable lessons, such as the importance of research and reading informative material to broaden her knowledge. "When you use social media as an additional platform for communication, you must always try to stay ahead, so that what you share with your listeners offers something new. Once you have captured their attention and kept them engaged, you must strive to maintain that connection by providing fresh content that relates to their everyday lives," she said.
