The management and players of Tshakhuma RO Nandilani are in a joyous mood. This follows a decision by the directors of Welties Investments Company to sponsor the team.
The sponsorship was officially launched during a ceremony at Levubu Park two weeks ago.
A director of the company, Mr Zander Welthagen, handed over 14 pairs of soccer boots to the value of R7 000 to the captain of the team, Andani Nemalili. Welthagen also indicated that the sponsorship will increase from time to time, depending on the financial position of the company.
He revealed that the decision to sponsor the team was influenced by the fact that their company is based next to Tshakhuma village and that most of their employees are from Tshakhuma. He further stated that as directors they felt that sponsoring the team was the best way to plough back into the community with whom they were doing business.
Nemalili stated that the sponsorship would go a long way in boosting the team's morale. He assured the sponsors that the team will gain promotion to the ABC Motsepe League next season. Tshakhuma RO Nandilani are currently shining on top of Stream D of the MMK Administrators League. They have thus far deposited 53 points into their league account from 20 matches and are almost sure of a place in the promotional playoffs. The second-placed side, Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers, are 14 points behind. Tshakhuma RO Nandilani have lost only one and drawn two of the 20 matches they have played.
