The Vhembe District Municipality has just announced that a burst pipeline between the Albasini Dam and Louis Trichardt is causing water shortages in town again.
"There is a burst pipeline at Beja farm between Louis Trichardt and the Albasini water plant and it has resulted in the shutdown of the Albasini water plant. Louis Trichardt town and Tshikota will have water shortage(s) due to the shutdown of the plant," says the VDM.
The VDM states that the pumping of water will resume immediately after repair is complete. No indication is given as to how long the repair work will take. "We urge residents to use water sparingly during this period," says the VDM and apologises for the inconvenience caused.
