Police in Saselamani are investigating a murder after a man was shot dead at his business premises in Makuleke village on Saturday evening, 28 March. The shooting was reported at about 19:45.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a man lying next to his car with gunshot wounds to the head. He was declared dead at the scene. The victim was identified by his younger brother as Hasani Nhlaloammuni Godwill from Makuleke village.
Police said the deceased was at his business premises when two unknown men entered the yard, shot him, and fled. Vhembe police spokesperson Captain Vuledzani Dathi confirmed the incident.
“We have opened a case of murder following a shooting incident at Makuleke village. The victim was found with gunshot wounds, and the suspects fled the scene. The motive is still unknown at this stage, and investigations are ongoing,” Dathi said.
Police have appealed to anyone with information to come forward. Anyone who can assist is urged to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Gunguvha Mikateko Alma, on 082 664 6843.
