Tomorrow is harvest day for the teams campaigning under the banner of the MMK SAFA Vhembe Regional League last season.
The ceremony, during which about R700 000 in cash prizes will be distributed to 142 clubs, will be held at the Munakisi Decorations and Trading Hall in Muledane and will start at 17:30.
According to the statement from the league, the overall champions, Madridtas FC, will receive R40 000 and a floating trophy. United Artists, who finished second in the promotional play-offs, will take home R30 000. A cheque to the value of R25 000 is awaiting the third-placed side, Tshakhuma Na Ndilani. Rambuda Young Fighters, who finished in the fourth spot, will become R20 000 richer.
The other teams that took part in the promotional play-off matches, Musina United, Makhitha Oscar Stars, Matsika Shooting Stars and Wayeni Sea Robbers, will each receive R12 000.
All clubs, with the exception of the overall champions, Madridtas FC, are expected to send one delegate to the ceremony. Madridtas will be allowed to send a maximum of 20 delegates, including the players. Madridtas represented Vhembe Region during the SAB League provincial playoffs at the Oscar Mphetha Stadium in Polokwane last month, where they failed to make the grade to the ABC Motsepe League.
