Last week Thursday saw the opening of Cashbuild's brand new Louis Trichardt Central store.

It took just over a year for the new Cashbuild store to be built from the ground up at a cost of R12 million. This after the building that housed the previous store on the corner of Kruger and Joubert Street was knocked down. "The previous building was just too old to comply with Cashbuild's new standards," said area manager Mr Renier Smith.

In addition to merely knocking down the old building, Cashbuild acquired an adjacent property to allow for enough space for the new store. The new store sees an increase from 800m² to 1 200m² in floor space, along with an additional 400m² parking space and a further 800m² loading area. "From the start the emphasis was on allowing for enough parking for clients as parking is a problem at most local hardware stores," said Smith.

As part of last Thursday celebrations, Cashbuild Louis Trichardt Central generously donated R15 000 in building materials to eight schools in the area respectively. The schools who benefitted from this welcome donation were Masedi Combined School, Madombidza Primary School, Gogobole Primary School, Mara Combined School, Makwatambani Primary School, Daniel Mubva Primary School, Maebani Primary School and the CVO School Zoutpansberg.

"The whole aim of Cashbuild is to sell good-quality building materials at the lowest prices. We also deliver for free within a 15km radius of town," Smith said.

Cashbuild has been trading in South-Africa for the past 39 years, with the Louis Trichardt store having been the fifth store to open its doors many years ago. Today, Cashbuild boasts 280 branches in southern Africa, including the recently purchased P&L Hardware branches.

"We guarantee that we can beat any price for any product of similar quality," said Smith. Apart from this, Smith said, there were also other benefits for customers who spent R15 000 or more per month at Cashbuild. "They qualify for a special rebate every six months," he said.
