The overall champions of the SAFA Vhembe Regional League will be crowned at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The four teams set to battle it out are Langutani Blue Birds, Rabali Pull Together, Berea FC and Vhembe Tron. They represent the three group-stage winners and the best runner-up from the three groups.
Rabali Pull Together and Langutani Blue Birds will test each other's strength in the first semi-final, scheduled to kick off at 09:00. Both teams finished their group-stage campaigns on four points. Pull Together played to a goalless draw against Ngwenani Young Chiefs and crushed Madombidzha Try Again 4-1 to secure a semi-final spot. Blue Birds beat Vhembe Tron 2-1 before sharing the spoils with Tshitavha Brave Lions in a thrilling 4-4 draw.
Berea FC and Vhembe Tron will meet in the second semi-final, set to start at 11:00. Berea's road to the semi-finals included a goalless draw with Makonde FC, followed by a 1-0 win over Mashamba Soccer Academy. Vhembe Tron advanced to the semi-finals as the best runner-up.
The winners of the semi-finals will face off in the final at 15:00. This year's overall champions will take home R60,000, a floating trophy and gold medals. The runners-up will receive R40,000 and silver medals. Teams eliminated in the semi-final stage will each walk away with R20,000.
The five teams that failed to progress beyond the group stage — Tshitavha Brave Lions, Makonde FC, Madombidzha Try Again, Ngwenani Young Chiefs and Mashamba Soccer Academy — will each receive R10,000.
The overall champions will represent the SAFA Vhembe Regional League in the provincial promotional play-offs, which will be staged at Mahwelereng Stadium in Mokopane. The date for the play-offs is yet to be announced.
