Chippas and Fighters in Sasol clash

With only three matches remaining before the Sasol Women's League programme for the current season comes to an end, the fight for promotion and to escape the relegation axe will continue this weekend.

With only three matches remaining before the Sasol Women's League programme for the current season comes to an end, the fight for promotion and to escape the relegation axe will continue this weekend.

Six matches will be played at various places throughout the province tomorrow, while the remaining two will be played on Sunday.

Three of the four Vhembe-based sides, Shayandima Morning Stars, Chippas United Ladies and Tshandama Young Stars, will play their weekend matches at home, while Samba Girls will travel to Seven Stars Ladies at Jane Furse.

Samba Girls will be without their captain, Mpho Mithabi, who saw red in their game against Sisters FC at the Raliphaswa grounds last Saturday. Tshandama Young Stars will entertain Mphanama Ladies at the Tshandama grounds tomorrow afternoon. It remains to be seen whether Mphanama Ladies will honor the fixture as they have a reputation of not honoring away matches. Mphanama's fixture against Chippas United Ladies last weekend was declared a walk-over for Chippas because of their no-show.

Shayandima Morning Stars must collect the maximum points in order to enhance their chances to partake in the promotional playoffs when they host Real Mighty Ladies at the Guvhukuvhu grounds tomorrow.

The spirit is high in the Stars' camp after they had won their last two weekend matches. Mighty Ladies will have the mammoth task to contain the Stars goal poachers, Munei Nemuramba, Tebogo Mnisi, Nthabiseng Matswi and Phuluso Mothelo.

Chippas United Ladies will host Mandebele Happy Fighters at the Makhuvha Stadium on Sunday. Chippas need nothing less than a victory to enhance their chances to escape the relegation axe at the end of the season.

Sisters FC will play in front of their home crowd. They will host Re Tla Dira Ladies at the Nwamitwa grounds outside Tzaneen.

The other fixtures are: First Touch Academy vs Maindis FC, Kanatla Ladies vs Botlokwa Ladies and University of Limpopo vs Moria Sweepers.
