In their Sasol Ladies Soccer League match at the Makwarela Stadium on Saturday, Chippas United Ladies brutally walloped Tshandama Young Stars 7-0.

Young Stars managed to match the home side pound for pound in the opening minutes of the game, but their original stamina vanished towards the end of the first half. Chippas found their opening goal in the 27th minute. Their midfielder, Thonifho Nengovhela, forced her way through the defence of Stars and beat the keeper with a ground cutter.

Masala Mangola of Young Stars was the first player to go into the referee's book. She tackled Kholani Mukhuwana from behind and the referee was lenient not to give her her marching orders.

Chippas were two goals ahead when the referee blew the half-time whistle. They were awarded a penalty after Nthabiseng Matswi was brought down within the box. Edzani Ramaano scored from the white spot.

Young Stars lost cohesion in the last half. Thonifho Nengovhela was on target again six minutes into the last half, following a square pass from Kholani Mukhuwana. Young Stars lost hope after their demon midfielder, Arinao Mudzielwana, was carried off the pitch after sustaining a head injury. Mudzielwana was replaced with Ndivhuwo Sadiki.

What followed thereafter was one-way traffic flow, with Young Stars at the receiving end. Nthabiseng Matswi and Kholani Mukhuwana scored in the 64th and 69th minute respectively.

Although victory was already certain, Chippas did not stop fighting. Nthabiseng Matswi completed her brace after beating the offside trap. Kholani Mukhuwana was given her marching orders for swearing at an opponent.

Thonifho Negovhela scored the seventh with a half volley later in the game.
