CIT suspects remain behind bars until next court appearance

The five suspects arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit robbery at a filling station near the Capricorn toll plaza on Tuesday appeared in the Louis Trichardt Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

The five suspects arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit robbery at a filling station near the Capricorn toll plaza on Tuesday appeared in the Louis Trichardt Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

The five suspects, aged between 33 and 38, were arrested soon after the robbery near Tshilwavhusiku. During the arrest, police recovered one vehicle, five firearms and ammunition, as well as undisclosed amount of money.

During their court appearance, Magistrate Vanessa Grundlingh postponed their case to 29 October for profiling of the accused and possible bail applications. All five are to remain in police custody.

In the meantime, police investigations are continuing, and more arrests may follow.
