The 22-year-old Ontshidza Courage Ndouvhada is blazing his own trail on the trap hip-hop scene. Hailing from the western side of Louis Trichardt, the young artist is already carving out a reputation for a sound that is raw, soulful and emotionally charged.
"My music is dynamic and deeply influenced by emotions," he explains. "It ranges from soulful, golden-era trap hip-hop to more narrative and emotionally raw lyrical content."
Courage's journey into music was sparked by those closest to him. "My friends encouraged me to start making music after I had been dropping bars daily," he recalls. That encouragement led him to embrace his unique style – a blend he describes as soulful, golden trap hip-hop.
Drawing influence from lyrical powerhouse A-Reece and the versatile Gusba Banana, Courage's artistry balances authenticity with innovation. "I believe everyone is learning that they should do what makes them happy," he says, reflecting his outlook on both life and music.
One of his proudest works so far is Ndi Mulilo, a collaboration with Doubl3_og. More than just a track, the song was created to honour his friends' clothing brand, UMLILO APPEAL, where Courage also serves as an ambassador.
But success has not come without challenges. The track faced controversy when another musician claimed it was copied. For Courage, this was a test of perseverance – but he remains focused on his path forward.
Now, he is working on a new EP with Doubl3_og, promising fans a variety of sounds that showcase his growth and versatility as an artist. His long-term vision goes beyond fame: "I want to gain widespread acclaim, persevere through adversity to achieve success, and leave a lasting, positive legacy."
