In their Makhado LFA match played at the Gwamasenga grounds on Saturday, Gwamasenga Dangerous Tigers held Mashau Anchors to a 1-1 draw.
The game was characterized by wasted scoring opportunities. Both sides managed to create more than half a dozen scoring chances during the first half, but neither could convert them into goals.
Tigers' veteran midfielder, Mashudu "Vhafunzi" Mufamadi, was a livewire in the first 20 minutes of the game, distributing some telling passes to the strikers from time to time. His original stamina, however, vanished with time.
Tigers lost shape in the middle of the park towards the end of the first half. At that stage, their midfielder, Mashudu Mufamadi, was looking weary. Vhukhudo Masuku of Tigers was booked with a card three minutes before the teams adjourned for the half-time break.
Anchors took advantage of the fact that the Tigers' midfielder, Mashudu Mufamadi, was a dead element in the last half and they opened their account in the 57th minute. A heartbreaking scramble within the box gave birth to the Anchors' goal, scored by Ampharisaho Mukhesi. He tapped in the ball while the Tigers' keeper, Tshilisanani Madzunye, was obscured by his own defenders.
Tigers replaced Mufamadi with Emmanuel "Didiza" Muofhe in the 65th minute and Anchors responded by introducing Andani Rambau and Mpho Ramulifho for Ndivhuwo Mashau and Homeboy Kgatla.
Tigers found the equalizer in the 78th minute. A substitute, Emmanuel Muofhe, forced his way through and beat the keeper with a ground cutter. Tshilidzi Munyai of Tigers was also reprimanded with a card for obstruction in the dying minutes of the game.
