Just four kilometres from the Matatshe Prison, north of Thohoyandou, lives a young, up-and-coming artist who is showing signs of making it really big in the music industry.
Vincent Dalani Nemalili, or Dazing Vince as he is known on stage, was born 20 years ago in the bumpy village of Ha-Makhuvha. He describes himself as a very talented artist with a unique music style. Although he leans more toward hip-hop and Trap music, the young man is remarkably versatile and can adapt to any genre if he wants to.
When he was in his teens, he used to imitate songs by popular artists - from the boyband, Westlife, to Lil Wayne, Joyner Lucas and Eminem. That was when that he realised that he had a passion and talent for singing and entertaining the crowds.
Dazing Vince started recording in 2021 with his friend, King Kariba, who saw Dazing Vince's talent and influenced him to record three singles, namely Rannda, Mngani and Man I'm sorry. He did not stop there, though. He released a few more singles that same year, including Maundwane, Valentines, and Crazyflows, which his fans went crazy for.
The hitmaker said that breaking into the industry had not been easy. "When I started, many people laughed at me and said I was crazy when my promotional video started trending. But most people loved the vibes on the clip, saying it's catchy. They even demanded a full song, which I provided, and it is on 4 000 plus views on YouTube."
Dazing Vince was voted VenRap Freshman Of The Year 2022 by Marshal Café in Makhuvha village, who awarded the young singer R10 000. He has now signed a record deal with Visionary Entertainment and is ready to bring some good music to the people. His promoter, Mr Ndivhuho Maremba, said the young artist was a true gem and stood a good chance of making it big in the music industry.
